Kenny and Bri's wedding at the Viceroy in Anguilla was amazing.

Monique Lhuillier and Badgley Mischka... not a bad way to start the day:

Love it when the guy gets a sweet suit too... girls get all of the fun with the dress. :)

Is there a better location for a intimate ceremony?

Nice work Michael. I love the west indies! Miss it. Great images, especially the light at sunset!

You've done a great job of managing the sun in these images. Obviously what was effectively a light tent helped for the ceremony, but the backlit photos on the hillside are really well controlled. I'm guessing you weren't using any fill-flash - just exposed for the skin tones? (There's no exif on the images)

What a beautiful gown!

Last month I shot Stephanie and Ty's wedding in Aruba and it was awesome. It was the second wedding I've shot there and, man, I'd shoot there a hundred more times. What a beautiful place. The wedding was on Renaissance Island, a small private island just off the coast of Aruba.

Here are some of my favorites...

I love that there are flamingos all over the island, so fun!

The sunsets in Aruba are just amazing...

As you might have been able to tell, it was getting pretty dark in those last few portraits of Stephanie and Ty. Luckily we had some time scheduled the next day for more portraits. We headed over to the other side of the island for some different scenery. Such amazing locations.

Your favorite class in High School is back... minus the power tools and the creepy teacher missing 3 fingers.

The workshops can cover anything you want... shooting, posing/directing clients, processing/photoshop, blogging, pricing, pricing for destination weddings, dealing with clients, wedding day time management... its totally up to you. We can sit and talk for the whole time or we can get outside and put your new knowledge to use in a shoot... again, its up to you.

These sessions will, for the most part, take place in Orange County or New York City but if you're scared of flying or have a group or would just rather me come to you let me know and we can work out the travel.

I had the good fortune to attend a WOODSHOP in November of last year. I can only say " DO IT!!" Michael's creativity and attention to detail are definitely to be learned from, and paired with his calm, but fun manner with clients/subjects makes him one of the best photographers in the country. Book this today -- you will be glad for every penny you spend.

Oh, this WOODSHOP is really beautiful, love it~

Sunday I shot Patti and Ji's intimate rooftop wedding at the amazing L'Auberge Del Mar. They're from Maryland so this was a destination wedding for them. About 40 of their closest friends and family made the trek with them. I think if I were doing it all over again I'd have something about that size. It was perfect. The day was coordinated by one of my new favorite people, Merilee Hennings, of Ever After Events. Merilee and her assistant, Alesha, were so helpful and wonderful to work with and made the day go so smoothly!

A couple details from the super swank L'Auberge.

I love how on your wedding day people do things for you that they never would otherwise... like putting on your suspenders, shoes, jewelery. :)

I LOVE the lobby at L'Auberge!

The ceremony site was so incredible... maybe the best lighting I've ever had during a ceremony.

Seriously. Look at these images under the chuppah. I need to bring that thing everywhere. Its like a softbox.

After the ceremony we headed down to a park for some images and then down to the beach. You can't come all the way to California for your wedding and not hit the beach for a little bit!

A few reception details.

Beautiful tones & not a hint of yellow in sight, great job.

I was going through my images today and came across a wedding I shot a few months ago. In May, I went with my friend, Travis, to Aruba. What an incredible place. If it weren't for the humidity, I'd pack up and move tomorrow.

I was thumbing through a past issue of Grace Ormonde a few days ago and noticed that my good friend and dad to new twins, Mike Colon, shot Timbaland's wedding on the same beach on Renaissance Island. Small world.

Anyway here are a few shots from the wedding.

How amazing is this place? We had a little free time and took a few personal pics too. Not a ton though as we spent most of the time swimming in the most incredible water I've ever seen.
